Jason visited the Chicken & Frog bookshop in Brentwood in Essex to share his books with their enthusiastic book-loving customers.

He held separate sessions, reading What Can You See? to pre-schoolers and I Like To Put Food In My Welly to primary-school children.

For the first time at a public event, with less than a week to go until the publication of his third book, Jason gave a preview of A Zoo In My Shoe – a follow-up to I Like To Put Food In My Welly, which features on BookTrust’s Life-changing Libraries List.

One of the children, five year old Avril, is the reading ambassador at her school and was particularly excited to meet a real author and requested selfie with him.

“After the pandemic made it difficult for me to get out and about with my first two books, it’s so exciting to be able to share my new book with people in person – and in such a welcoming space as the Chicken & Frog bookshop.”
