Jason was delighted to be back in the Kids’ Zone at the Coppetts Wood Festival in north London, helping local nature lovers raise money to look after an important green resource, nestled behind the North Circular.

Alongside art and craft stalls, food and drink stands and local campaigners, Jason entertained some of the younger visitors with his anarchic rhyming books, I Like To Put Food In My Welly and A Zoo In My Shoe – dipping into the gentler What Can You See? for the younger book enthusiasts.

Promising stickers to anyone who laughed – at the books, not his face – the laughs were even louder than normal, as children howled at the idea of swimming in a cup of tea and eating a pizza, covered with four types of fleas.

“It was lovely to be back in the woods again, as it’s such a great community event,” Jason said. “It’s fulfilling to be able to help with conservation efforts – and it’s just an invigorating place to be.”
